The girls opened pool play with a 2-0 loss to rival Sacred Heart, but bounced back with a pair of 2-0 wins over Rockville Center and Fontbonne Academy. Their 4-2 record qualified IA for Sunday's semifinals, but they drew top-ranked host school, St. Anthony's. The home team handed the Bears a 3-0 loss, 25-22, 25-20 & 25-13 and went on to defeat St. Mary's (Lancaster) to win the tournament.

11/9/09 - In just their second year back in the Monsignor Martin Athletic Association, the Bears qualified for the state tournament, defeating Nardin on Friday night, 3-0. 10/16/09 - The Immaculata Bears lost a tough road test last night against St. Mary's 25-11, 25-20, 25-22. The Bears came out a bit tight in game one but settled down and played the Lady Lancers tough in games two and three. The loss dropped the Bears to 7-3 in the Msgr. Martin League, good for second place overall.
On Tuesday, the Bears defeated Mt. Mercy in 3 straight games. Sarah Horvath led the Bears with 12 kills and seven aces.
