2010 5/25/10 - Congrats to the Varsity Softball team! They won their semi-final game yesterday against Sacred Heart Academy with a score of 8-6. Alicia Dolan had a home run and Amber Penna secured the last out of the game with a diving catch at 2nd base! The Bears will play in the Monsignor Martin finals this Wednesday, May 26th at 4:00pm at Sunshine Park. Please come support your team. 5/17/10 - Senior Night was successful, the Bears beat Nichols 5-0. Meg Hennessy led the team with two hits while Meg Smith had ten strikes and two RBIs. The Bears record is 18-5. 4/13/10 - Down 3-1 to Nardin in the bottom of the seventh inning, the Bears rallied to win 4 to 3 with two outs and a 3-2 count on the batter.
Kara O'Brien started the rally by getting hit by a pitch. With one out, Caitlyn Fennell singled up the middle, followed by an infield single by Meghan Hennessy to load the bases. Amber Penna then laid down a sacrifice bunt scoring O'Brien and advancing Fennell and Hennessy one base. Now trailing by just one run with runners on second and third, Megan Smith ripped a single to right center field, scoring both runners and winning the game 4-3.
The girls will play at Grand Island on Thursday, before heading to the Mudville Tournament early next week.

5/24/10 - Immaculata 18, Cardinal O'Hara 0 - In the final league game IA defeated O'Hara to finish 8-0 in league play and 10-6 overall. Pitcher Liz Szpara pitched a one-hitter with 11 strikeouts and she hit a three-run homerun. Also contributing on offense was Kathryn Halloran with four hits and Emily Jankowiak with three hits.
5/14/10 - Immaculata 6, Holy Angels 5 - Pitcher Madisen Hughes pitched a complete game Thursday afternoon, striking out eight batters, as the JV Bears clinched the MMAA JV title. Alex Rosenlund added a pair of doubles and Emily Jankowiak had a great game defensively, with five putouts at second base. The girls record now stands at 7-0 in the league and 9-3 overall, with just one game remaining vs. O'Hara next Friday, May 21.
5/11/10 - Immaculata 9, St. Marys 4 - The JV Bears broke open a tight game with four runs in the bottom of the sixth inning, with clutch hits coming from Alex Rosenlund, Liz Szpara and Karah Burlow. Pitcher Madisen Hughes went the distance with 12 strikeouts and added two base hits. The JV Bears are currently 6-0 in MMAA League and 8-3 overall.
5/3/10 - Grand Island Tournament, Loss 10-1 vs. Grand Island; Win 11-5 vs. Cheektowaga - Kathryn Halloran chipped in two hits and one run, while Madison Hughes added two hits in the loss to Grand Island.
Pitcher Liz Szpara recorded eight strikeouts and had two hits, three runs and two RBI in the win over Cheektowaga. Madison Hughes added a double with two RBI. The JV Bears are now 3-0 in MMAA League play and 5-3 overall.
4/30/10 - Win, 15-4 vs. Mt. Mercy - Pitcher Liz Szpara went the distance with 12 strikeouts while Karah Burlow had four hits, for runs and three RBI. Alex Rosenlund added two hits and three runs.
4/28/10 - Win, 16-8 vs. CCA - Catcher Kathryn Halloran had two hits, three RBI and two runs, along with a great throwout of a CCA baserunner. Brett Fielding added a triple, driving in two runs.
4/12/10 - W, 19-1 vs. Nardin - Pitcher Liz Szpara went the distance striking out 12 and only allowing two base hits. Alex Rosenlund contributed two base hits, three RBI and three runs scored.
