Immaculata Academy embraces Catholic Franciscan spirituality in every aspect of the school community.
Franciscan Studies for Students
The Franciscan Studies module is incorporated into our course offerings through the religion classes and annual student retreats. Each grade level concentrates on one core Third Order Franciscan value and corresponding Franciscan virtues from the Belief Statement of Immaculata Academy. In addition, each year a Franciscan symbol is discussed.

These Franciscan values are studied through the writings and teachings of St. Francis and St. Clare of Assisi as well as of Mother Colette Hilbert, Foundress of the Franciscan Sisters of St. Joseph, sponsors of Immaculata Academy.
Faculty and Staff Orientation
Each new faculty and staff member spends time learning about the history and spirituality of Immaculata Academy so as to model it for the students and incorporate “Franciscan moments” into their class curriculum. Additionally, the annual faculty and staff retreats center on a specific aspect of Franciscan spirituality.
Franciscan Atmosphere
One of our goals is to have visual reminders throughout the school of our Catholic Franciscan culture. To that end we have placed many and various symbols of this heritage in the classrooms and other gathering spaces in the building and on the campus.
