11/17/08 - Gabby Leo ran one of the toughest cross country
courses in the country on Saturday at the State Federation Championships at Bowdoin Park (Wappinger Falls, NY), finishing 196 out of 250 runners. She completed the 5K course in 22:53. Saturday's race officially ends the 2008 season, with the Bears finishing 7-1 overall and third place at MMAA Championships (11/8/08).
2008 Cross Country Team
11/10/08 - The girls closed out their season on Saturday, finishing third out of eight teams at MMAA Championships, at Cazenovia Park. The Bears got strong performances from the entire team, with Gabby Leo and Kaitlyn Lopez earning 2nd Team All-Catholic Honors. Leo also finished 8th overall in the meet, earning a spot in next week's State Federation Championships at Bowdoin Park in Wappinger Falls, NY. 10/31/08 - The Bears closed out their regular season on Thursday with a 15 -44 win over Mt. St. Mary's, finishing with a 7-1 overall record. The Bears are also ranked 7th overall in NYS Class D. The girls will compete in MMAA Championships Sat., Nov. 8 at Cazenovia Park.
10/20/08 - The girls had one of their most impressive outings to date, finishing 2nd (small school division) out of 19 teams at Saturday's Clarence Fall Classic. Gabby Leo and Kaitlyn Lopez helped lead the way, with both runners finishing in the top ten. The Bears are looking forward to Thursday's matchup with one of the MMA's top teams, Nardin.
10/17/08 - The Bears improved to 5-0 in MMA competition, by out-running Mt.Mercy on Thursday, 19-44. Gabby Leo finished 1st, for the third consecutive time in dual meets. Kaitlyn Lopez, Natalie Vetter & Kathy Vetter rounded out the top four finishers for IA. The girls will travel to Clarence on Saturday to run in the Clarence Fall Classic.

10/14/08 - The girls continued with their strong performances, finishing 6th out of 12 teams at Saturday's Alden Stampede Invitational, including a top ten finish by Gabby Leo. The Bears will take on MMA rival Mt. Mercy on Thursday at Cazenovia Park.
10/10/08 - Led by Gabby Leo's season-best time of 18:49 (3 mile course), the Bears swept the top seven places on Thursday and knocked of St. Mary's, 15-50. They'll travel to Alden on Saturday for the Alden Stampede Invitational.

10/6/08 - The girls moved into 8th place on the Section VI rankings, after finishing third this weekend at the Southern Tier Invitational. The event featured 17 teams from all over WNY. The Bears take on St. Mary's this Thursday at Delaware Park.
10/2/08 - The Bears improved to 3-0 in MMA competition on Thursday, defeting Holy Angels, 20-41. Gabby Leo and Kaitlyn Lopez led the way, finishing first and second. Check back on Monday for Saturday's results from the Southern Tier Invitational.
9/26/08 - Led by strong showings from Gabby Leo and Natalie Vetter, the girls knocked off Nichols on Thursday, 26-29. With the win, the Bears improve to 2-0 in MMA competition. They'll travel east down I-90 this weekend to take part in the McQuaid Invitational.
9/22/08 - The Bears traveled to East Aurora on Saturday to run in the East Aurora Invitational, featuring 26 teams and over 180 runners. The JV team finished strong, taking 6th place overall. The girls take on Nichols this Thursday at Delaware Park.

9/18/08 - Immaculata opened their MMA season on Thursday, defeating Sacred Heart Academy, 17-44. The Bears swept 1st - 4th place and showed a great team effort.
9/13/08 - The Bears traveled to Fireman's Park in West Seneca for the West Seneca Invitational this past weekend. The freshman team finished 6th out of 12 teams while the varsity team placed 7th out of 12. The solid finish pushed Immaculata up into the 10th spot for small school rankings.
IA cross country is quickly making a name for itself in Western New York. After a winless 2006 campaign, the girls finished with an impressive 7-1 record in 2007, including a big win over rival Mt. Mercy Academy. Led by senior co-captains Kristin Miga and Kim Vetter, the girls finished second in their league, fourth at the All-Catholic meet, and eighth at NYSAISAA Championships.
